Employment Impace

CUTLINE: In 2007, the academic health care industry employed 425,000 Ohioans—nearly one in every 12 Ohio workers.


Tax Revenue Return

CUTLINE: For every $1.00 provided by the state in direct support for Ohio-based medical colleges, approximately $10.00 was returned in tax revenue in 2007.


Health Research Funding

CUTLINE: Ohio medical colleges directly accounted for 66% of the National Institutes of Health research funding the state of Ohio received in 2007.
